Taj Mahal, The history of an epitome of love

The Taj Mahal is one of the worlds officially recognized by UNESCO, a United Nations wing organization that deals with the affairs of nations in the world. His recognition made the Taj Mahal glimpsed by many tourists from all over the world. This building later became one of the popular tourist destinations in Asia.
Foreign tourists not only hunt for the wonders of the magnificent Taj Mahal building. They also studied the history of building mosques and several other parts that had to sacrifice dark history. To the extent that the story of its creation is compiled in a book that has been translated into several languages of the world.
The story of the construction of the Taj Mahal is still thick with the nuances of the history of the kingdom in the past. In contrast to the history of the establishment of the Monas monument in Jakarta, which was imbued with the nuances of the struggle for independence and nationalism. However, the building of the Taj Mahal can be compared to the splendor of the Colosseum in Rome and the Pissa Tower in Italy. The buildings were once jointly ranked as '7 Wonders of the World' before re-assigning a few years ago.
The history of the construction of the Taj Mahal belongs to a large project in its time. The work involved thousands of Indian residents and artists in the country to produce an ornate building and Quranic calligraphy written in Arabic. But in essence, all the designs were planned by the best architect of his time, Isa Muhammed.

The construction of the Taj Mahal was carried out in the days of the Mogul empire, a large kingdom in India. At that time the empire was held by Shah Jahan who had an empress named Mumtaz Mahal. From the full love story of the struggle between the two, Taj Mahal becomes a building that is not forgotten by time.
The magnificent building with white dominance symbolizing purity was established in the Uttar Pradesh region. The exact location is on the banks of the Yamuna river which is one of the holy rivers in Agra, India. The settlement process takes approximately 22 years.
Shah Jahan really wanted a philosophical monument without removing his beautiful impression to commemorate the death of Mumtaz Mahal after giving birth to his son. There are around 20,000 people involved in the process of establishing the Taj Mahal. They were intentionally imported from all parts of India, Persia, and Turkey to arrange the composition of the building to be balanced and according to Shah Jahan's expectations.

Controversial story

There are several versions of the history of the Taj Mahal. The truth cannot yet be ascertained scientifically. But we can know it as an enhancer of insight and historical discourse. All historical versions of the Taj Mahal contain elements of betrayal, love, and brotherhood intrigues. So that gives a dramatic impression to connoisseurs of stories from India.

Built by Shah Jahan

An empire named Mogul or Mughal that stood in India was once led by King Salim and Queen Jagat Gossini. The beautiful empress has another name, Jagat Gossain. He has given a son to Raja Salim. So that the throne of the kingdom was certain to fall into the hands of their son who was given the name Khurram alias Shah Jahan.

Empress won the title Taj Bibi Bilqis Gossini Jodhbai after her husband died. Whether because of feeling competitive or lacking in confidence in the royal decision later, Gossini's son finished off his brothers. Shah Jahan committed the crime to ensure that the royal throne would fall into his hands. The brothers he killed were Parviz, Shahryar, and Khusrau Mirza.
When he had occupied the royal throne, destiny would later deliver Shah Jahan to the karma he had to receive. Her beloved empress, Mumtaz Mahal or Arjuman Banu Begum gave her several descendants. Empress Mumtaz is a Persian woman who is famous for her beauty. No wonder, Shah Jahan loved him very much.
Meanwhile, the fourth son of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, Aurangzeb is a highly respected king. Aurangzeb is famous for his firmness in upholding Islam in the Mughal domain. This king also diligently cleansed the mosque as a place of worship of Islam. Even Aurangzeb is a hafidz (memorizing the Qur'an).
At the residence of King Jai Singh, the crown prince of the king of Ameer in the Deccan will later be established. This building was founded by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal who died after giving birth to Gauhara Begum, their 14th child. The time of death occurred on June 17, 1631 AD. While the memorial monument was built from 1632 to 1653.
Karma struck Shah Jahan when Aurangzeb, his own son ascended the throne. The flesh of his flesh killed his brother Murad, Shah Suja and Dara Shikoh. After that, then Shah Jahan was held in prison with Jahanara Begum Sahiba, Aurangzeb's aunt in an octagonal tower. Shah Jahan prison place directly faces the Taj Mahal. It was in this place that Shah Jahan spent the end of his life for nine years before finally passing away in 1666.
Even though he seemed to be an ungodly child, Aurangzeb was actually not that bad. At the time of his father, Shah Jahan died in prison, he himself buried him. Aurangzeb respects his parents by aligning their graves at the Taj Mahal.

Built at the request of Mumtaz Mahal

The second history of the construction of the Taj Mahal considers the Taj Mahal to be built on the request of Mumtaz Mahal himself. The story of the beautiful empress felt unable to survive much longer. He also submitted 4 requests to her husband, Shah Jahan. Among those he asked for was to build a Taj building which would later become his tomb. Shah Jahan must make regular pilgrimages at the tomb.

Soon Mumtaz Mahal breathed for the last time. Shah Jahan, of course, felt very sad because he lost the empress who had given him 14 children. He promised to fulfill one of his wife's requests before he died to treat their children well.
Because of the sadness suffered by Shah Jahan, the king was reluctant to do normal activities for up to 2 years. This atmosphere of mourning lasted until 1633. 2 years before 1633, Shah Jahan had time to get people to build a Taj to fulfill the will of Mumtaz Mahal before he died. Then Shah Jahan put the tomb of his late empress in the Taj. This laying is done to prove the feeling of eternal love between the two.

Background of Love Story

This second story of human love is not like Romeo and Juliet. But we can learn many things from their love stories. There is a long story that caused the king Shah Jahan to be willing to spend a lot of wealth, time and energy to remember his wife. His love history is as follows.
When he was still a prince in the Mughal Dynasty, Shah Jahan was named Khurrum Shihab ub din Muhammad. He was not born in Agra, but in Lahore in 1592. He was the golden son of Emperor Jahangir who became the third child of all his siblings. Because it became a pride, young Shah Jahan received many lessons as preparation for becoming a king.
Education is hard but balanced with its facilities to form Khurrum to be smart and deft. Of course, this was exciting news for Emperor Jahangir. At the age of 16 only, Khurrum was able to design royal fortresses. Like the army headquarters in the fort of Kabul and redesigning the fort of Agra.
Khurrum's father also felt his son was capable enough to lead several small troops. Therefore he immediately authorized the crown prince to lead the royal soldiers before marrying several women. His first wife was named Akbarabadi Mahal. While the second is the Mahal Kandahari.
Apparently, fate said another. Despite having two wives, Shah Jahan felt in love with a 14-year-old girl from the Persian nobility. This girl is the true love of Shah Jahan. His name is Arjuman Banu Begum.
Shah Jahan was only allowed to make a third marriage in 1612. That year was the year of Shah Jahan's wait after 5 years of saving feelings for Banu Begum. The wedding party was held lively. His third wife then got the name, Mumtaz Mahal. Since that time, the two couples looked very intimate. Even Mumtaz was the one who faithfully accompanied Shah Jahan to do royal duties both inside and outside the palace.
5 years after being married, Shah Jahan's father gave him state duties. Shah Jahan had to fight to conquer the Deccan region. He also left accompanied by Mumtaz Mahal to win the fight. The Mughal kingdom in the south became safe thanks to this victory. Since then, Shah Jahan has been named "Shah Jehan Bahadur".
The title that had been obtained by Shah Jahan because he managed to secure the Deccan region then took him to the royal seat. It is certain that he is the successor to the royal throne of the Mughal Dynasty in India. Shah Jahan will be the fifth king in the dynastic lineage.
The expected time arrived. Shah Jahan finally set to become king in the Mughal kingdom. Mumtaz Mahal is increasingly loyal to her husband. He was well aware of the heavy tasks the husband carried. So Mumtaz never missed accompanying Shah Jahan under any circumstances. It is not wrong if then Shah Jahan loved him unmatched
It is not wrong if Shah Jahan woke his wife up to a magnificent 60-meter high monument. This marble-based building contains a lot of silver, diamonds, and gold in its architecture. At the end of his life, both husband and wife were buried side by side in the building area. Such is the loyalty of the holy and great love story as the background to the history of the establishment of the Taj Mahal.

The Miracle Facts of the Taj Mahal

As one of the cultural heritage of the Indian people, the building of the Taj Mahal always has a place in the hearts of the people. This is evidenced by efforts to protect the Taj Mahal from the dangers of the war against British colonialism in the colonial period.

The second world war which took place in the 19th century became one of the major threats to the beauty of the Taj Mahal. So the building was fitted with scaffolding and underwent several repairs with the aim of adding a layer of protection to be resistant to bombs. So the magic of the Taj Mahal building that is full of valuable property can be maintained properly.
Uniquely, the tomb of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal which in history are said to be buried in the building of the Taj Mahal was not entirely correct. Sarcophagus with expensive decorations that were displayed openly did not contain anyone's body. Reportedly the magnificent grave of the Mughal Dynasty was placed underground. The location is definitely still a secret, there is no official publication regarding this statement.
