How to do unusual Holiday at Japan, 13 Famous Vacations in Okayama when its Winter
Have you ever vacationed in Okayama? Or even just heard about Okayama. If I just yesterday there was an opportunity to feel the holiday atmosphere to Okayama. It turns out that Okayama is one of the regions in Japan that is also cool for traveling or just to shopping on japan. There are lots of interesting places that can be visited while on vacation here.
For example, if in the winter like when I visit, I can play snow in Hiruzen. Besides snow, there is also the Snow Festival. Or, if you want to come to Okayama in the spring, you can play Korakuen Garden. This is one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. Especially when spring is here there will be lots of cherry blossoms.
Obviously not, if in the Sakura season, Okayama is also one of the destinations to see Sakura Flowers in Japan. If there is another chance, I would also like to visit Okayama to see Sakura flowers. Now, have you been curious yet, can you see anything here !? Can you do anything
1. Trying Hiruzen Snow Shoe Trekking
This Hiruzen is not Hiruzen Sarutobi, one of the Hokage in the animated film Naruto. But it is one of the highlands in Okayama. Incidentally, in the winter of Japan in 2018 yesterday I had a vacation to Okayama and stopped by Hiruzen. Now one of the activities that I had tried while there was Hiruzen Snow Shoe Trekking.
Yes, trekking with special shoes to walk on snow. I really like trekking, but if I try trekking with special shoes to walk in the snow, it's only when Hiruzen was yesterday. It's not long, just trekking for 3 hours to one of the hilly peaks in Hiruzen at minus a few degrees.
Luckily for winter clothes. So even though the temperature is minus, I am still comfortable while trekking through the snowfields. He cried again, besides trekking while enjoying the surrounding scenery (which was full of snow), I could also learn some of the flora and fauna around the trekking track. My guide even explained some traces of wild animals that live there. Then, before the break, I was given a glass of hot chocolate to warm myself up!
2. Play Snow At Hiruzen Kids Snow Park
Actually, I have played snow several times in Japan. First time when I visited Tateyama Kurobe, then next on Shirakawa Go, Jigokudani Yaen-Koen, Rokko Snowpark and most recently at Hiruzen Kids Snow Park! The last one is the most exciting. The problem is right there, the snow is falling heavily. This is also the first time I have felt the snow falling after several times back and forth to Japan.
I am very happy. Finally, I could feel the sensation of snowfall. What do you think? Yes, it's almost like normal rain. But it doesn't get wet right away, and it's much cooler. Snowdrops are really smooth, as smooth as flour. It's annoying because I use glasses, not how long the glasses are blurry.
But I don't care, the snow toy in Hiruzen Kids Snow Park is exciting. I forgot my age so I played here. Because I can try some games related to slides on the snow here. Then, who can't miss it, snowball throwing toys! I really have been wanting to feel like snowball throwing toys like Nobita.
3. Hiruzen Yuki-Koi Snow Festival
Actually, it's really a mistake to visit this Hiruzen Yuki-Koi Snow Festival with no partners. Because indeed this festival is set with a romantic atmosphere. Starting from the existence of an igloo house from the snow with a heart-shaped door, up to hundreds of Kamakura (igloo or typical Japanese ice house) with burning candles in it. The point is that the night will be really romantic if you bring it together, you want to hug your lover.
4. Make Your Own Ice Cream
Again, why does winter eat ice cream instead? Yes, what if you all learn to make ice cream. So yesterday's story shortly after arriving in Okayama, the first activity was lunch, then learned to make ice cream by yourself! Because of this vacation to Okayama, I found out that actually, the way to make ice cream itself is really easy.
I only need ingredients like egg yolk, milk, whipping cream, and sugar. Already, the ingredients are mixed just like that and put into a round shape device with two rooms. Well, the ingredients were put into the first room, which was about half the volume.
Meanwhile in the second room, filled with ice and salt. After all the ingredients are inserted, and the place where the ice was closed was tightly closed, the next step is to roll the round shape tool for 10 minutes. Pretty old, but because like playing, it doesn't get tired. Only after about 10 minutes are all finished, and homemade ice cream is ready to be eaten! How come it turns out, after all, maybe I will just sell ice cream.
5. Take a walk at Yubara Onsen Town
Because of its geothermal geographic conditions, there are many emerging onsen cities in Japan. In Okayama Prefecture there is one of the onsen cities called Yubara Onsen Town. Even though yesterday I didn't have time to take a bath at the Onsen here, I had time to go around this onsen city, look around the atmosphere there, and of course try to soak your legs and arms in a small onsen outside. While free: Oh yes, here yesterday I had found a hotel called "Gamelan". It turns out that in Yubara Onsen there is someone who knows the name of an Indonesian traditional musical instrument called Gamelan
6. Make a Blueberry jam
If I do something related to Blueberry, I can remember the work experience at the Bakery while in Australia yesterday. But this time I didn't make a cake. But make your own blueberry jam to combine with bread which is usually eaten when having breakfast. Who would have thought that it turned out that making jam itself was easy? So, coming home from a vacation to Okayama yesterday I was able to bring a small jar of Blueberry jam.
7. Strawberry Farm
In Japan, there are strawberries which taste very sweet even the sour taste does not exist, and I don't like sour fruit, so I really like strawberry in Okayama. So I was very happy when I was invited to Kibi Chuo City for my own strawberry picking activity. Just pay 1400 YEN per person, I can pick strawberries myself and then eat as much for 30 minutes. As a result, I was satiated yesterday
8. Making own Sushi for Dinner
Actually, I am most lazy to cook my own dinner. Usually, I always buy outside. Whether it's just chicken noodles or Brother-Fried Rice at the intersection. Just make this time different! Because I will make Sushi for my own dinner, I am even more excited. I've been curious for a long time about how to make Japanese food called Sushi. Mumpung who taught experienced 40-year-old chefs! Even though my homemade Sushi is rice, it's a bit too much, so it's a great shape. No, what matters is that the stomach is fuller
9. The Process of Making Kibi-Dango
Do you know what always amazes me about Japan even though there are many vacations there? One of them is how they combine technology with human expertise. Starting from the most complex ones such as train drivers, to those that look simple to make traditional Japanese cakes named Kibi-Dango.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit one of the factories making Kibi-Dango in Okayama. So in this company to make the dough into a Kibi-Dango cake, assisted by high-tech machines. But in the process, even though it is mostly automatic, some processes remain inseparable from the human tanga as its control.
For example, in the Quality Control section, it is still done manually with human assistance. Or for certain types of Kibi-Dango, the manufacturing process is still done traditionally. Yes, that's Japan. From my observations so far, no matter how advanced the country is, they have not forgotten culture. Existing they combine technology with traditional culture.

10. Learn to make crafts from Leather
Usually I can't do it when told to make crafts. But when I was offered to try to make handicrafts from the skin during my vacation to Okayama, I want to. When else can you make your own key chain. Use the skin layer again. Just pay 2500 YEN, I can learn to make my own key chain! Apparently the results aren't bad either.
11. Around Korakuen Garden with Kimono
Using Kimono clothes when winter is actually really not really. But for the sake of a photo of the lackeys at Korakuen Garden, the temperature carried by 5 degrees must be held. Luckily Korakuen Garden is cute, and I also got nice photos. No loss of holding cold temperatures if you can get good photos If you want to try it too, it's better spring time. The temperature isn't too cold, and the sakura at Korakuen Garden is blooming. Just pay 3500 Yen if you want to try this kimono dress in Okayama.
12. Making Wind Chimes at Okayama Castle
Usually if you go to the castle in Japan, just look at the inside. Well, if in Okayama Castle it turns out to be a bit different. Besides looking around, I can also take part in activities to make wind chimes. What is a wind chime like? Usually the bell is hung near the window of the house in the summer. And if it gets wind, the bell will say "Tingg ... Ting ... Ting". If the Japanese say, the sound can make the atmosphere cool even though the weather is hot. Very fitting for being brought to Indonesia because every day is summer13. Learn how to make replica of food from candle
I once tried the activity of making food samples from this candle when I visited Shoryudo yesterday. But the one in Okayama is a little different. Because I only have to color the food samples. Incidentally yesterday I tried to make an example of food in the form of Sushi Tuna and Shrimp Sushi
