Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 II Super Zoom Camera, Rely on 16x Optical Zoom and 4K Video Recorder

The popularity of mirrorless cameras and the rapid development of smartphone camera technology, making enthusiasts of point-and-shoot cameras continue to decline. But this type of camera has not been completely abandoned, a number of camera manufacturers are still diligent in releasing new products.

Most recently, Panasonic has announced Lumix FZ1000 II. This super zoom digital camera features a 1 inch 20.1-megapixel MOS sensor, with a 24-400mm Leica DC lens (35mm equivalent), an f2.8-4.0 aperture range, and offers 16x optical zoom capability.

Very long focal length, of course, requires a reliable vibration damper system. Panasonic also immersed a 5-axis Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS +) hybrid technology. The Level Shot feature is also available, which automatically detects horizontal lines so that the photos don't tilt.

As a point-and-shoot camera, the lens on the Lumix FZ1000 II cannot be removed even though it comes with a body like a mirrorless camera. Having a fairly large grip, double dial to set the shutter speed and aperture separately, and the double ring to adjust focus and zoom.


The LCD screen supports a 3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1.24 million dots and has a free-angle mechanism. Above the screen, there is an OLED live viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million dots.

Lumix FZ1000 II is also capable of recording 4K 30 fps video in MP4 format at a 100 Mbps bit rate, the frame in the 4K video can be extracted into a photo. Meanwhile, recording at 1080p resolution reaches 120 fps.

The continuous photo speed is capable of up to 12 fps. The results of photos and videos can be sent instantly thanks to WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The battery life is claimed to be able to handle 440 shots at a time.

It is planned that Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 II will be available at the end of March 2019 at a price of US $ 899. With the same price range, we can get a Lumix GX9 or Lumix GX85 mirrorless camera with removable lenses.
