And there are also exhibited long human hair, fragments of ceramics and other ancient artifacts scattered in the cemetery. This is the only archaeological site in Peru, where mummies and corpses are exhibited in their original graves, along with various ancient artifacts. 4. Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo, Italy
Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo, in Italy is a burial place for monks since the 16th century. In 1599 they made a mummy from Silvestro Gubbio who had just died, and placed him in the catacombs. The corpses buried here are the bodies of 16th century monks and priests and famous figures. The monks and priests were buried in their robes.
This cemetery contains around 8000 bodies and 1252 mummies (according to the last census made by EURAC in 2011). 5. Sedlec Ossuary, Czech Republic.
Sedlec Ossuary is a small Roman Catholic chapel in Sedlec, Czech. This Ossuary consists of approximately 40,000-70,000 human bones that have been arranged to form chapel decorations. These human skeletons in 1870 were arranged very artistically by Frantisek Etak. In ancient times the Ossuary was made as the final resting place of human skeletal remains.
